Ginealar Weyr
In an alternate timeline, when AIVAS was never discovered, the 10th Pass has just begun. The Northern Weyrs are crowded almost to bursting point. The solution? A new Weyr, Ginealar, named for the old tongue words for "new generation". And that is what it is. A fresh start in life for people all over Pern to move South and begin a new life there, where everyone is needed. Four Turns into the 10th Pass, Ginealar Weyr so far has little ground to cover, for the South was never populated in the 9th Pass, or no records of them remain, and so there are so far few people living in the mostly unknown Southern Continent. But Ginealar Weyr is vastly underpopulated, unlike the crowded North. Hidebound Holders and dragonriders alike are unwilling to move South, except those either with an open minded view of the world, or those left with no choice but to leave the North. Ginealar Weyr exists in partnership with it's sister, Vistar Weyr.
